Preparation Underway for the 2028 Summer Olympics

The 2028 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXIV Olympiad and commonly referred to as Los Angeles 2028 or LA28, is an upcoming international multi-sport event scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, California, United States. The Games will be held from July 14-30, 2028, and will welcome athletes from around the world.

As preparations continue for the Games, LA28 has recently released its official emblem, which celebrates the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris 2024 and sets the stage for LA28. The emblem features the iconic Los Angeles skyline, with the Hollywood sign prominently displayed. The design is intended to reflect the city's rich history and its modern, vibrant spirit.

The venerable Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which has already hosted Olympic events in 1932 and 1984, is scheduled to once again serve as a venue for the 2028 Games. The stadium, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023, is undergoing renovations to prepare for the upcoming event and will host track and field competitions.

The 2028 Summer Olympics will be a major sporting and cultural event for Los Angeles and the surrounding region.
