Hugh Freeze Breaks Down in Tears as Wife Recalls His Confession

Disgraced Ole Miss Coach Overwhelmed by Emotion

Hugh Freeze, the former head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels, was overcome with emotion on Wednesday as his wife, Jill, recounted his confession of past transgressions. Freeze, who was fired in July 2017 for multiple NCAA violations, has been married to Jill since 1992. They have three teenage daughters together: Ragan, Madison, and Jordan.

During an interview on ESPN's "Outside the Lines," Jill Freeze said that her husband had confessed to her about an extramarital affair and other misconduct. She said that Hugh was deeply remorseful and had been working to rebuild their trust and relationship.

Freeze, who is now the head coach at Liberty University, said that he was grateful for the support of his family and friends. He also said that he is committed to rebuilding his career and reputation. "I made some serious mistakes, and I'm paying the price," Freeze said. "But I'm not going to give up. I'm going to learn from my mistakes and come back stronger than ever."

Freeze's comments come as he prepares for his first season as head coach at Liberty University. The Flames are scheduled to open their 2024 season on September 2 against Southern Miss.
